Family of William Harrison Jones and Ann Jane Roberts

I’m posting here in hope of finding someone else who has some information about this branch of my family. The family I have the most information about is my paternal grandfather, his parents and siblings.
Parents are:
William Harrison Jones, born about 1844 in Dublin, Ireland, died 1899 in Liverpool. He was a customs officer.
Ann Jane Roberts, born 1847 in Liverpool, died 1923 in Liverpool
Children, all born in Liverpool are:
- William Alfred: b. March 2, about 1875, m. Maggie, had daughters Norah and Queenie (Elizabeth?)
- Joseph Anthony: b. Feb. 9, about 1877
- Emily Jane: b. 1879, m. name Heys, son’s name Eric, grandson Peter b. about 1947
- Harry (or Henry): b. March 21, 1882, d. 1956, Fort William, Ontario, Canada (now Thunder Bay)
- Frederick: b. 1883
- Sarah Ann: b. Oct. 19, 1885, m. William Payne, d. 1984 Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada
- Edward Anthony: b. 1887
- Annie: b. 1889, m. name Lockley – had sons George & Les, daughter Doris
When Harry (my grandfather) was born in 1882, the family lived at 1 Crouch St., Everton, Liverpool. At the time of the 1881 census they were living in Barrow-in-Furness at 26 Lord St., but all of the 3 children then alive were recorded in that census as born in Liverpool. My grandfather and his sister Sarah both emigrated from Liverpool to Canada in the first decade of the 20th century.
I’m also interested in anything anyone might know about relevant migration patterns – i.e. why might a family move from Dublin to Liverpool in the mid 19th century and why might a family living in Liverpool move temporarily to Barrow-in-Furness in the 1880s? (I know there was and still is a shipyards there.)
I might be a day or two late, but I’ll be sure to say thank you to any who reply!
