Hi, Can anyone tell me if there was a hospital at 108, Wellington Rd Toxteth.
Jane Godsoe then Gaddarn died there in February 1886. She had married in 1832 at the age of 21 and lived all of her life in 70 Lower Harrington Street, aka Harrington St or later Caryl Street. Her 2nd husband died in 1775 and she was living there then. I found her death. Her daughter was the informant and lived at 6 Toxteth street. Any ideas please.

Do you know where the Florrie is Lynne? There used to be two properties behind the Florrie (Florence Institute on Mill Street) before you come to Rectory Street (gone now), first 108 then 110 which was on the corner of Wellington Road and Rectory Street:-

Thanks. The death took place in 1886. From Bertie's post, 1881 to 1891 it looks like the King family had the residence for Pigs or coal!! Why would my great x2 grand mother go there to die???. Oh dear might have misread it may be 105 Wellington Rd. Better go to specsavers.
Any advice on that address. PLEASE .

I did check on the Florrie and I don't think it was built until 1889. Perhaps the houses were demolished to build it.

Number 108 is shown on 1950s maps behind the Florrie she was probably just lodging there. People moved around more back then and properties were often in multiple occupation with more than one household living in each property.

105 Wellington Rd is not recorded on the 1881 census or entered in the 81 directory. The 1891 census has Herbert Norman, wife Matilda and family.

As Blue has already commented, she may have been lodging, visiting friends, etc.
