Does anyone know Joe Hewitt?

I don't have many old photographs in my collection, sadly, but Joe Hewitt is in an album as a friend of the family. A chauffeur with links to Prescot (Cables?).
Anyone recognise this precious old photo as one of theirs?

No, he isn't, Mary. There are several Joe Hewitts listed as chauffeurs in 1939, and none of them up north.

There was a Joseph Hewitt in St Helens in 1939 married to Dorothea. I don't have full access to the 1939 Register but I put in Driver* for occupation and it was a match. Children's births were in Prescot and St Helens registration districts.

Not sure Blue, living at 9 Bold Road he's down as a Motor Lorry Driver (all goods), dob 15.11.1911, living with two John Edens (father and son?) and somebody younger, although the occupation could have changed later.

I asked an older member of the family today, and 'Dorothea' didn't ring any bells, but then... who knows.

I think I skimmed over the 'motor lorry driver' in 1939. Will go back and have a look...
