Walton Eistedffod?

I have inherited several medals in boxes, two of which have LIVERPOOL COMPETITIVE MUSICAL FESTIVAL, inscribed in gold lettering on the outer lid of the boxes.
They belonged to a first cousin once removed who died some ten years ago. I know she was a keen musician. One medal has a harp in the middle and round it is a blue border with the words Walton Eisteddfod.
I've looked in a somewhat desultory fashion for some information about it but cannot find anything except for one hit which simply has such a medal for sale but nothing else.
Another medal has the following inscribed - Kirkdale Musical Festival with a date below it - 1936.

Does anyone know anything about either of the above?

Thank you for a quick reply Barbara. I had found the account of the 1929 attempt but as it says it never happened again it still left me wondering what musical festival there was in the 1930s which provoded my relative with medallions. I know she played both piano and violin.

Thank you for that tip - my internet went down so my reply has been delayed.
Does't look as though I'll get much more information...
