Hi can you provide more details like when and where Emmeline was born. Do you have her on any censuses or baptisms we could look at please?

p.s. I bet there are many ways of spelling the surname Britton, have you tried doing wildcard searches?

Hoping that the only Emmaline Britton I've found is yours this is her entry for birth.
Births Sep 1910 BRITTON Emmaline W. Derby 8b 32[68]
As she was born before 1911 when the mother's maiden name was given in the indexes, perhaps you could tell us what it is from Emmaline's birth certificate, as this will make it easier to find somebody in approximately 1920.

Assuming that your Emma is the grandchild of Thomas and Emma, living at 103 County Road in 1911, were her parents William and Mary who have been married one year? If so I'm assuming this is their marriage
1910 BRITTON William FENNER Mary B Kirkdale, St. Mary Liverpool
Do you have the birth of
May Britton Oct-Nov-Dec 1918 West Derby Lancashire 8b 433

Can you tell us everything you know about Joseph and his relationship to Emma with approximate dates and sources please as you haven't provided enough information here for us to try to help you.

Marie,
Have you checked out the 2 Joseph Britton's born in Scotland, 1919, could be the same person giving 2 hits?
The family have connections to Scotland, 1901 census and 2 girls born in Govan.
I thought the name rang a bell,

If that is the case, there are at least two previous posts about this query, and my suggestion above may be completely erroneous so disregard it - absolutely more information required.

Hi Everyone,
I'm now looking for relations for Joseph I've got his date of birth. I tried the BMD's for Liverpool, no luck. I'm going to try again, if no success, perhaps you could give me somewhere else to try.
Thanks for your patience.

I'm sure we have the 1881 census details somewhere but it's going to be a pain searching the other posts for them each time we want to refer to it, so here it is
RG11; Piece: 3681; Folio: 92; Page: 44
70 Commercial Road, Kirkdale
All born Liverpool
James A Fenner Head M 48 Pitch boiler
Jane Wife m 47
Emma 15 Scholar
Joseph 5 Scholar
Joseph Martindale Stepfather 58 Stone mason
Martin mother 67
I notice that even the enumerator has underlined "Martin", presumably he was confused too.
Now what "relations" are you looking for? If it is wife and children then there are two possible marriages, I would suspect the first is the correct one.
1897 FENNER Joseph MCKEON Mary Kirkdale, St. Mary
1902 FENNER Joseph W HOGG Bertha West Derby, Register Office or Registrar Attended
The second may be an RC marriage, the first will be available at the Liverpool Record Office, needed to check the father's details are correct.
