Trying to find a marriage or death record for Lilly J Thomas born Q1 1916 in Liverpool to a Francis Thomas nee Walker. Her father was Alexander Irwin Thomas and her sister was Agnes Thomas b 1920. She may have emigrated to Australia or NZ like a lot of her relatives did.

Unfortunately marriages online only reach to 1921, for which we can check the father's name. it's a bit unlikely that she would have married before that date but I did a search anyway. Even on LancsBMD and Freebmd there are no likely Lilly's but even trying Lily J in case of a misspelling, I have had no luck finding a marriage - if there was a possible you could have ordered it from the GRO with the stipulation that the father was correct, otherwise they would have refunded your money.

I'll see if I can find any passenger lists - not much luck there either I'm afraid.

I wonder if this marriage is worth further investigation.

Had a quick look for a birth for, Lillian J Thomas, 1870 to 1930, none born in England & Wales who could have been old enough to marry.

Children were born afterwards, Cripps/Thomas combination, so not a former married name.

Probably dismiss the above, if birth is correct.

No wonder I couldn't find it though to be honest I only looked for Lilly J Thomas with no birthdate just the year!!

Was there an address in the 1939 register and can you tell if she was living with anybody else please?

Although it says 2 people in the household they are on different pages with Agnes Walker's name first so that's why it must be called Walker Household? There is a redacted line underneath Agnes and I can just make out a name Agnes can't read the surname, 9 Jul 1920, single, Factory Hand (Jam Factory)

Agnes Walker, 1862, is Lily's grandmother and was living at that address, 1911.

Thanks everyone, that all collates with my other records. Her mother and father died in the 1920s.
