I am trying to locate the burial place of Hugh Watkin Hughes, died March Quarter 1944 and his wife Mary Jane Hughes (also known as Rose Hughes), died December Quarter 1956.
On the 1939 Register the resided at 286 Anfield Road, Liverpool, with their daughter, Edna Rose Spencer, who died in 1958. I assumed that they would have been buried at Anfield Cemetery, but there is no entry in the burial register held at Liverpool Archives.
Can any one suggest were else they would have been buried.
Hugh Watkin & Mary Jane Hughes.
Re: Hugh Watkin & Mary Jane Hughes.
Hi and welcome to the forum. Have you checked the actual registers at the Record Office or are you going by online transcriptions.
By that date they might also have chosen West Derby Cemetery, however if their religion was RC then perhaps they would be buried at Ford or Yew Tree.
If you had the exact date of death the easiest place to check first would be the Liverpool Echo to see if a notice gave details of the funeral.

Re: Hugh Watkin & Mary Jane Hughes.
Thank you for your reply. The family were not Roman Catholic. I assume that they were Church of England, although when Hugh Watkin Hughes married Mary Jane Glover in September 1903 it was the Baptist Church, Stanley Road, Bootle.
I checked the actual registers at the Record Office a number of years ago now, but my research was put to one side when the Record Office close for refurbishment.
I will now obtain a copy of their death certificates which will give me a date to search the Liverpool Echo for a funeral notice/obituary.
Meanwhile, the following details of their six children and whom they married, might yield some response. Once again, thank you.
Edna Rose Hughes, born 1905, married Robert A Spencer in 1931
Myra Glover Hughes, born 1909, married John Cassidy in 1935
Glyn Watkin Hughes, born 1910, married Lilian Hale in 1932
Grace Hughes, born 1912, married George A Johnston in 1985
Stanley R Hughes, born 1915, married Sarah J McHugh in 1941
Eileen E Hughes, born 1918, married John J Williams in 1941
