Mary Edith POVALL (b. 1888 Liverpool) marries Arthur WRIGHT (b. 1887 Bundaberg, Australia) on 09 May 1912 in Liverpool (from his Army records). They have 2 children Edith Marjory and Arthur Leslie. The husband died in 1919 from pneumonia in the Tropical Hospital, Liverpool, he seems to have suffered many bouts of malaria which no doubt contributed to his death.
In Toxteth Park Cemetery there is this information (copied and pasted), all in the same grave:
POVALL Mary 73 years Widow 19 Mulliner Street West Derby 2 June 1921
WRIGHT Arthur 31 years Soldier 19 Mulliner Street West Derby 13 March 1919
TAYLOR Mary Edith, Cremated Remians Of 68 years - 103 Nuffield Road Court House Green Coventry 4 August 1956
WRIGHT Arthur Leslie 31 years - 24 Coral Street Liverpool 2 August 1946
Which I believe are her late soldier husband Arthur, her son Arthur Leslie, her mother Mary Povall and herself. But I can't find a 2nd marriage for her to a Mr Taylor, she may have married in Coventry not Liverpool?
If you married a second time would it be usual or normal to have your cremated ashes in a grave with your first husband and family?
