GRO and Liverpool Records Office

Please can you help me. I want to know if there is a difference between the certificates you get from the GRO and those from the Liverpool Records Office?
Is the one from Liverpool a copy of the actual handwriting ? As such if they signed their name it would show their actual writing. That would be lovely

Hi Lynne,
Do you mean the Liverpool Register Office rather than Record Office? The original version of certificates can be obtained including original signatures from the local register office concerned if the office has the facility to provide the original image (some offices write out the certificate). A copy of the record can also be obtained from the GRO but it will not contain original signatures and will have been a written copy from that time. The Record Office does not have any birth certificates or death certificates but it does have original marriage records from various local churches.
