St Malachey's Home or Boys.

Post by John Winfield »

Hi.
I am seeking any information on the St Malachey's Home for Boys in Liverpool, please. I believe that my uncle, Joseph Dadoma and his brother Peter were housed there at one time.
Many thanks.
Regards
John

Hi John,

Welcome to the forum. There was a St Malachy's church in Toxteth Liverpool that dates from the 1900s and a school of the same name, I'm struggling to find any mention of a home. There were RC homes in Shaw Street, Everton, Liverpool ie Father Berry's Home, St Vincent de Paul Home for Boys, Our Lady's House, St Bernard's Training Home, St Anthony's Home.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

There are school records available for St Malachy's at the Record Office, a list of schools held are listed here https://www.liverpool-genealogy.org.uk/ ... chools.php

How have you got the information that the boys were at a home and which religion would they be?

St Malachy's

Thank you for the replies.
The information came from my cousin, Joseph the son of Joseph Dadoma. Of course, it may have been another home. Unfortunately with all of that generation now passed on, it is impossible to check. The boys went into a home after the death of their mother.
