Release From Prison 1898

A black sheep of the family was committed to 10 years penal servitude 1890 for a crime he carried out in Widnes. He served his sentence at Portland Prison. A document I have just downloaded shows his discharge from prison , it gives his date as 24-8-98,his liberation address as Liverpool (D.P.S.A) and his occupation as labourer.
My Query if someone can answer for me is what is the meaning of D.P.S.A ?

Many Thanks

Hi and welcome,

There was a, Discharged Prisoners Aid Society, perhaps worth looking at further.
