Descendants of Willoughby Pudsey Dawson

In my family history research, I came across someone who found a photo album belonging to the family of my 3x great grandfather Richard Dawson 1783-1850. In the album were photos taken by Willoughby Pudsey Dawson in 1902 as captain of the SS Penguin in the rescue of survivors of the shipwreck Elegamite off the coast of New South Wales. The naval photos and glass negatives have been donated to the National Maritime Museum.
You can see his photos here:

There are other family photos in the collection however and I am trying to assist the finder in locating the descendants in England as the celluloid glass negatives are fragile and would not survive transport well.
Willoughby Pudsey Dawson b30 Jan 1862, son of Richard Pudsey Dawson and Louisa Elizabeth Shuttleworth.
Richard Pudsey Dawson is one of the sons of Richard Dawson 1783-1850 and Mary Anne Perkin. Richard Pudsey Dawson is the brother of Mary Seaman Dawson my 2x great grandmother.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thank you.

You would need for a start, details of the most recent information you have, ie these people, or their descendants would be on the 1911 census unless they had emigrated.
To come forward to living people is rather more work for you, and we would not give details of them in respect to their privacy, however, we have tried to collect a few suggestions to help, here

If you don't have access to Findmypast, I would suggest that you either purchase a few credits or sign up for their free trial, as you may find a number of people with the name hyphenated to Pudsey-Dawson on the Electoral Registers. This database will give you addresses relating to between 2002 and 2014 and you could perhaps write to them to discover their lineage.

Would this be Richard Pudsey Dawson of Hornby Castle?
I can't boast noble bloodlines, I'm afraid.

My 3rd great grandfather was head gardener to Richard's father, Pudsey Dawson Esquire, for many years.

Daughter Dorothy (then aged 49) married Hereward Harrall Florance in NSW in 1938.
Dorothy and Richard were the only children of Willoughby Pudsey Dawson. Looking at the online trees, there do not seem to be any descendants.

The 1881 census is very interesting about Richard and young Willoughby. Their naval ranks and so many servants...at Diddlebury Hall in Shrops.
1901 with wife Charlotte and 2 kiddies in Mortlake Surrey.

Until a few years ago that place at Tenbury Wells was a choir school for boys, probably the only one not under the wing of a cathedral. Closed now but probably something on Google?

My Great Grandmother Lucy Margaret Pudsey Dawson, was Willoughby's youngest sister.
I would be interested in seeing any family photographs.

Hi and welcome to the forum. I'm not sure whether Ken became a member of the Society or continued to watch his posts on the forum, but I have passed a message to him to let him know you have responded.
