Mystery of no wedding!!

I hope I haven't asked about this before. I don't think I have.
It has been mentioned in Roots Ireland but not in any detail.
My great x 2 grandfather Alexander Fletcher was born in Glasgow about 1832. I can't find his baptism on Scotland's People. He married Margaret McNair Dougans in June 1853 in Glasgow . She was born 1832 Strathblane Scotland. They had 3 children born Glasgow. Hugh b 1854; Ann McNair b 1855 died 1858 and Alexander b 1858. They (the family) moved to Ireland sometime after 1858, where Alexander died 1866 aged 34. He was buried in St Munchen's Limerick. I have not info about their life in Ireland no job where they lived or any thing. They had a son William Aitken born 1862 in Ireland. Sometime after her husband's death Margaret and family moved to Liverpool. In 1871 census she is called Margaret McNair living at 16, Vere St Toxteth Park, with her new husband Andrew McNair aged 32 b Scotland. All the children are called McNair although from their names and dates of birth , I think they are Fletchers. Why Hugh aged 16 is down as Nephew I am not sure.
I cannot find a marriage for Andrew McNair and Margaret, which I guess would be about 1868 +- 2 yrs.
I cannot find the family's passage back from Ireland.
Andrew MacNair had died by the 1881 census and Margaret has reverted to Margaret Fletcher 1, Grove Square West Derby, with Andrew (Junior) and William Aitken. I have her death certificate 20 Aug 1886, which states she is the widow of Andrew McNair marine engineer and she buried at Toxteth. I have found a death for Andrew McNair at sea 23 Dec 1873 aboard the Elmina, but his probate was granted to Susannah Crawford Allan Hutchinson in Scotland.
I would like some help filling in the missing info what did they do in Ireland, Where did they live. Didi Margaret marry Andrew2 McNair. Was he a relative??????? as Margaret's mother was Mary Ann McMNair bc 1808 in Stirling Scotland.
PLEASE can you help. Vic Mar managed to find a lot about his enigmas and this has prompted me.
