Help with Henry family please..

Im stuck finding any more info about my 2nd g granddad.
Michael Henry b 1844
I have his marriage cert he was 28, I have him marrying Rosanna Oreilly in 1872, her maiden name was Field but I believe she married a John Reilly in Ireland previously.
Also from the Catholic Marriages in Liverpool it has his parents as Michael and Brigit Henry
Then on the 1881 and 1891 censuses Rosanna Henry is listed as married living with her parents In Clayton St but no mention of Michael. On the 1901 census she is now a widow. I have a death in 1898 that fits in but the address is different to Rosannas.
I am struggling to find anything more about him both before and after his marriage .I would be grateful if anybody has any suggestions, and thanks for taking the time out to read this

Who registered the death? What address was on it? What was Rosanna's address? Was her address the same in both 1901 and 1911 censuses or could she have been at a different address midway between.
Could they have split up? Was his occupation something that would have taken him away from home? Have you found him, either alone or with another woman in the censuses that Rosanna is at home with her parents?

Hi Mary , and thanks, they managed to have five children the last being William b 1883 Michaels occupation being a Painter, whilst still living at Clayton St.
1901 Rosanna living In Trueman St (close to Clayton St) Widow
1911 Rosanna living in Scotland Rd Married ?
Working on the assumption that he died between 1891 and 1901 the only death I can find with the approx. age is a Michael Henry age 56 who fell into Harrington dock on new years eve and drowned, the informant being the coroner, the occupation being dock labourer and address Norfolk St.
I Havnt been able to find a Michael on his own yet.
Im also struggling with his parents Michael and Brigit , im assuming they were Irish, Michael being a farmer.
Anyway, thanks for the help and advice Mary
Chris

It would seem that the thing to check is the newspapers to see if it mentioned this particular Michael Henry's family. There are two or three newspapers at the Record Office for Liverpool at this time.

Hi. wow, thanks everyone for their help. On my last trip to Liverpool I visited the central library on a Tuesday and we were able to find a cutting of this Michaels death in the Mercury, which was basically a report of the accident in which he lived just a few minutes to tell how his foot tangled in a rope and fell in . No mention of his family.
Thanks Simone ive seen some of these before and ill check them out
again,. I have his youngest son Williams birth cert from 1883 and he his named as the father, so really that's the last positive id ive got of him. the 1891 census just lists Rosanna as married.
Perhaps he is back in Ireland, or like Mary suggests that they separate after 1891?
In 1901 she states she is a widow, but on the 1911 she is down as Married/wife ? age 74.
Ive become slightly obsessed with him lol, hes the one family member id really like to find as he is the Henry line.
Anyway once again thanks to everybodys advice

Have you looked at the children's marriages? I see George Joseph was married in 1896, but I can't fathom out if he saying his dad is James Michael Henry or James and Michael Henry?

Hi Simone , thanks for looking, I have checked the other childrens baptisms and marriages;
Christopher b 1873
George Joseph b 1875
James Michael b 1878
Thomas Francis b 1881
William John b 1883
Your example George Joseph ( my g granddad) as also had me puzzled , it reads to me as "son of Jacob et "and" Michaelis Henry & Rosanna Henry"
On Christophers Catholic marriage his father is also named as Jacob but on his baptism it is Michael. All the other children have Michael Henry as father.
Simple error or is there something more to it?
Thanks once again,
Chris

Could it be Jacob al Michael a shortened form of alias?

wonder if Jacobi or Michael could be confirmation name? I've also seen Catholic Irish families where the mother has been called one thing but named as Bridget on parish registers
doesn't make it easy does it

Yes I wondered whether it would have been a confirmation name, I have noticed while looking through the Liverpool Catholic registers that as well as latin names they sometimes have a few Christian names, and also ties in what EO says.
Thanks
Chris.
