Hi Everyone, newbie here. Need help with reverse look-out (if that's possible) 1911 Census for Parr Street, Liverpool...
John Joseph Jones(B.1888) Md. Catherine Jane Medcalf (B1889)...Married at St.Peters, Lpl, residence at time of marriage Parr Street. I have found both of them on the 1901 Census living with their respective parents, and have found parents on 1911 Census (minus children). Also (pushing my luck now) need 1891 Census for 6H,2Ct Cooper Street, Toxteth...Need occupants, s/b.James (B1867) & Mary Ann (B1865) Jones and above John Joseph (B1888), but who else & any info that can be extracted from the census return. I may be able to do reverse look-ups myself but not aware of how to do it.

Hi,
Reverse look-ups are very hit-or-miss because of the vast variations in the way enumerators named streets and in particular referred to houses in the Courts. Some would write 2H 6Ct, others 6Ct 2H, etc, which makes for search difficulties.

Don't know if this will work on Ancestry but if you search the 1891 using just 'Cooper Street- - 'Toxteth' and 'Lancashire' you might end up here: RG12 - Piece 2925 - Folio 54 - Page - 45.
2 Court is shown and H#6 is directly below #5 although the full address has not been written in for it.

For the crew...
John Jones and Catherine Medcalf did not marry until after the 1911 Census.
Marriages Dec qtr 1911: Jones, John J and Medcalf, Catherine J - Liverpool 8b 19

And in April that year she was a living-in servant at 82 Russell Road, Liverpool.

And if the given YoB is correct John Joseph Jones may have been a Private in the 1st Btn Manchester Regt stationed at Kamptee in the Nagpur district in the State of Maharashtra in India.

Address look ups on Ancestry are possible only on the 1911 and 1881 censuses.

The 1891 census, Mary posted, 10 Upper Harrington Street is the correct family,
It appears they have moved to Cooper Street after the census.

Thx Bertieone for the scans, but I have them. Harriet Louisa Jones(B.1891) was living with her Aunt Harriet Brewer (Nee Campbell) sister of her mother Mary Ann Jones (nee Campbell)...Incidently Mary Ann Jones died 1895 and her husband James Jones remarried Annie Laura Hallowell (Re-Md 1898 St.Nicholas,Lpl) lived on Rathbone Street for a number of years. Your too fast for me...Or I am too slow composing responses...I am now reading your second response and again have this info ( 3H 7Ct Rathbone), they later moved to 1H, 3Ct Rathbone. Thx again
