Marriage Bonds

Post by enid+cc »

I have found some Lloyd family marriages at Liverpool St. Nicholas that are by Licence. If the Marriage Bonds are still available
where can I find them? I am mainly interested in the 1790s.
With Thanks, Enid Cresswell

They are held at Cheshire Record Office as the licences were issued by the Diocese of Chester.

They are filmed and available on Find My Past website. They are listed under Cheshire. You have to have credits to view them. Some local libraries have access to FMP.

Hi,
If you do not subscribe to FMP post some names and dates so we can have a browse and check if they are in the collections from the Diocese of Chester. Might save you using credits on 'empty' searches.

Hi and welcome to the forum. I hope we are able to give you some help, although I don't want to be too pessimistic but the majority of the Allegations/Bonds I have looked for haven't given any real information - disappointing I know.

Dear Helpers,

The name I'm looking for on Marriage Bonds is LLOYD. Thomas in the 1790s. John would also be of interest but that could be
anywhere.
I have been trying to put my Members Interests into your Members Interests list. So far without success. I don't know what
Type Verification means and perhaps that is where I am going wrong. It says it has been accepted but unless there is another
page my interests are not on the list.

Regards, Enid C.

There is one Marriage Bond image dated 6 Jan 1794 for St Nicholas.

Thomas Lloyd, joiner [21+] and Jane Price [21+]. When you search for marriages just enter his name, year of marriage and Lancashire.

When you enter your Members Interests they are forwarded to the Members Interests Secretary in an email form, who does a check to ensure no duplications. If you give it a week or two you will find that they will have been uploaded by her.
