Hi and welcome to the forum. The cottages are still there but don't know if you will be able to go inside any of them. There is usually a reunion once a year, the contact details for records is here http://forum.liverpool-genealogy.org.uk ... tage+homes and hopefully they will be able to give you details.

There may also be records available at the Record Office which is on the 3rd Floor of the William Brown Street Library in Liverpool.

Hi Kath and welcome,As Mary has indicated there is usually an 'open day' once a year when the "Friends of ..." manage to get access from Social Services, as it is mainly them that now occupy those buildings that are still in use there. It is used for 'special needs' kids these days I think ?
I went to it last year and found it a very emotive experience.
You will get a brief idea from the following web-site :
http://liverpool-live.info/culture/live ... 1-aug-2013 .
I also have a few photos of what you can expect to see if you should visit them here

Haven't seen any notification for a re-union this year but a quick google should give that information and who it may be worthwhile contacting ahead of your proposed visit?

I wrote and never received a response from the contact above; I gave up, but perhaps you might have more success emailing or ringing. Much older records are kept at Central Library, but I'm not sure how far the registers go; it sounds as though you would be looking for more recent records.

Most of the 'Cottages' are still standing, apart from one by the clock that is pretty dilapidated. If you can join in with the reunion, you'll find it very rewarding, as I did - the 'Friends' are lovely people. I'm not sure how much longer they'll be staging the reunions, as the whole site was being earmarked for something else. If you google 'New Hall Splash' there are a lot of photos and a site map.
