Re: Liverpool general geneology
Hi,
When searching for BMDs online using the link that Blue70 provided... http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl remember that the general Liverpool area had 2 registration districts, West Derby and Liverpool, from 1837 up to 1881 when Toxteth Park was added as a 3rd district.
And if you need help there are willing eyes here, just post your search 'problem'.

Re: Liverpool general geneology
Also if you haven't got access to Ancestry there is also the following which is a free website.
www.lan-opc.org.uk
Lancashire Online Parish Clerk website for Parish Register transcriptions. It is volunteer based so isn't a complete record of all parish registers but does have quite a few for Liverpool area.
Also
www.lancashirebmd.org.uk
this website is also for searching Birth, Marriage and Death Indexes but where it is useful is in marriages where it gives the name of the church where the marriage took place which can then help in looking for parish registers.
Just a few extras which may also help you!
