Don't take it for granted, check out this list

http://www.toxtethparkcemetery.co.uk/db ... &section=C

From this list the two Ayres are NOT in that grave, because they are in THIS grave

Transcription of headstone says Grave No. CO162,

AYRE Annie 22 years Spinster 14 S?? Bridge Street 14 November 1861 703 14049 C O 162 352 CEM 9/1/3
AYRE James 65 years H.M Customs 14 St Bride Street 3 October 1867 1365 27273 C O 162 352 CEM 9/1/6
AYRE Susannah 72 years Wife 14 St Brydes Street 22 October 1865 1131 22612 C O 162 352 CEM 9/1/5
AYRE James 58 years - - 15 May 1895 3854 76785 C O 162 352 CEM 9/1/16
AYRE Thomas M 4? years Infant 110 Sutton Street Tuebrook 20 September 1871 1825 36469 C O 162 352 CEM 9/1/8

Very badly transcribed and I have understood why because a C is scribbled similarly to a O.

Always check the original register rather than taking transcriptions for granted.

Sorry if I'm incorrect in assuming that you are relying on the transcribed site.

Hi Sue

There is this birth for a Samuel Ashton in Q1 1915:
Ashton, Samuel
Mothers maiden name BARLOW
West Derby 8b 1184

As all the other burials are from Edward Davies and family, then I think these mystery ones must also be from his family.

Who was Edward married to? There is a marriage for an Edward Davies and Martha Barlow in Q1 1897. Is that your Edward? If so, Could little Samuel be Martha's sisters child?

On a bit of a roll here!

Lancashire opc has the marriage for Edward Davies and Martha Barlow. Grooms father William Davies, shoemaker - so does look like your edward. one of witnesses was Jessie Barlow.

Then is then a potential marriage on freebmd for Jessie Barlow and Samuel Ashton in sep 1899, West Derby, 8b 613.

Edwards marriage to Martha shows him as a widower. His first marriage, also from lan opc, was to Mary Cornforth in 1887. She was 21 at marriage.

The Mary Davies buried in this grave could therefore be Edwards first wife, rather than his sister ?

Back to Annie White....

Ancestry has a Florence Annie Davies, father Edward Davies, marrying a Charles White. Freebmd shows marriage was Q3 1918, West Derby, 8b , 451.

Now onto baby Jewson..

Jessie and Samuel Aston brilliant !!

Annie Davies .....Florence Annie White.....saw this and dismissed it....not so clever am I

Will do alteration this evening when I am home.

Once again many thanks

Hi Sue,

I think Jewsen may be a typo and should be Jensen/Jenson.

Ancestry has a marriage of an Elizabeth Ashton, father Samuel Ashton, to Edward Jenson. Freebmd gives the date as Q4 1919, West Derby, 8b, 531.

There is then a death for Male Jensen, age 0, in Q4 1929, Liverpool, 8b, 235.
