S W Lancashire covers a large area so it might help if you could be more specific as to which place you want information about. Where did the girl you mention marry and what do you know about her family?
The Liverpool community apparently dates from the mid 18th century. There is a Jewish community in Southport which dates from the 19th century. Manchester also has a large Jewish community again having it's roots in the early 19th century.
Each community has or had many different synagogues depending on where the families originated from.
