I am trying to follow the route taken by the enumerator in the parish of St Anne, Garston. The pages on Ancestry start at HO107 piece 2192, fo 1126, page 1, but I do not know where to look for the details of his route. Any clues please?

I don't think there will be a surviving copy of the 'enumerator's walk'. I am able to follow his route on successive pages from St Anne's Crescent as far as Folio 1128 Page 5, then Bailey Lane Upper [2192/ 1130 / 6; then Sandbach Lane [2192 / 1130 / 8]; then Rose Lane, Upper Aigburth Road, Mossley Hill [2192 / 1133 / 14], back to Sandbach Lane [2192 / 1133 / 14]. Followed by several pages still in St Anne's including lots of 'big' houses.

Are you looking for anyone or any house in particular?

Thanks for reply. I' m trying to marry the 1851 houses and lanes to the map I have of the area, which does not name all the roads, lanes etc. I shall have to work a bit harder at it, if the summary of the 'walk' is not available.

I can list the sequence of roads, lanes and houses for you as they occur in the St Anne's census summary sheets or can you access them as a series in Ancestry?

I think in the 1850's the roads were not as specified as they were in later years and the enumerators obviously knew those living in the area by the sound of the Enumerator's walk given, I'll just repeat it for others who may know the area, they might be able to help.

All that Northwest part of the Township of Garston which comprises the Ecclesiastical district of Saint Ann's Aigburth commencing at the Boundary near the Post Office along the East side of Aigburth Road to Mr Bramley Moore's corner of Barteys Lane along the northwest side of the upper end of the said Bailey's Lane in a straight line to Scotsons Farm including the whole of Aigburth Vale.

Thanks for more ideas. I will have to follow the returns in their sequence and see how they relate to the map.
1841 will be more difficult if I get that far.
