Upton Hall R/C School Wirral ?

Further to me earlier post re the mysteries of Ellison/Roberts I have made some positive headway but have now hit the proverbial "brickwall" again.
Does anyone know anything of the history of the above named institution ?
Or maybe know of a local historian for the area ?

I do know it was owned and administered by Nuns of the order of the Faithful Companions of Jesus (FCJ for short), and as well as offering "boarding" school education to the more wealthy congregation, also ran a "poor school" where underprivileged children were taken in and raised to be "useful members of the community" i.e trained to go into 'domestic service'?.
I had thought that the Nugent Society would have been the natural archivists for this but apparently not, and have been offered no advice as to where I might look further.
The period I am particularly interested in is 1920 - 1930 and would like to be able to find out if any records of the children they helped have survived for that time ?
So that is now my quest, of course I am familiar with the modern day structure of the school and the Modern organisation of the Sisters of FCJ but have not found anything of an historical note pertinent to my search, ...as yet?
Can anyone possibly help point the way, please ? :(

If you can get in touch with Frank, the owner of this site

Otherwise I think it would be either the Wirral Archives
http://www.wirral.gov.uk/my-services/le ... es-service

or maybe more likely the Cheshire Archives

Sadly after such high expectations and notwithstanding considerable effort on the part of their wonderful Archivist, Sister Mary, our search yielded nothing of any significance. Thanks for the suggestions though, I still won't give it up. :?:

Sad to hear that, if you ever come across a resource it would be worth making a note of it on one of our boards for future use.

Indeed I shall Mary, I am collating as much up to date detail as possible and will post it in the context of my own search when I have tested it.
Further to the somewhat disappointing outcome I reported earlier Sister Mary has since written again and has since done a little more researching herself and come up with a couple of marvelous suggestions as to which orders were active in the kind of assistance my Mother would have received, who were operating in that broad location and, during the time period I am looking at.
Even more wonderful because its complete with as much contact detail as she has been able to muster and an instruction to let them know when I write as to where and from whom,I got said information. I will post my findings as and when, but shall maintain a cautious optimism.
