I'm searching for the parents and siblings of Ann POSTON Glover. She was married to James GLOVER on 11 May 1808 in Liverpool parish. Marriage record listed Ann from Liverpool parish and James Glover from Walton on the Hill. Ann Poston Glover and James Glover are listed as godparents by proxy to the children of my ggg-grandfather Charles Poston born 1789 in Whitchurch, Salop, and emigrated to Quebec, Canada in 1815. I'm hoping their connection may lead me to the birth place of Charles' father.
any info or ideas are welcome.
thanks.

There is a marriage licence for James and Ann on ww.findmypast.co.uk under Special Collections then Cheshire then allegations and licences

You will need to purchase a few credits to view it. This may give info on the couples's ages , marriage status and James' occupation.

According to www.familysearch.org

Charles Poston christened 2 June 1789 at Whitchurch was the son of Charles and Ann Poston.

Charles junior married Mary Yardley at Whitchurch on 8 June 1809

They had Edward 1811, William 1812, Thomas 1815 , John 1818, Martha 1821 and Mary 1824

A Charles Poston was buried at Whitchurch on 4 July 1832

I am very confused as to who of the above, if this is the family you mean, went to Quebec and also about the godparents by proxy as I have never seen godparents listed in a C of E register only in a RC register.

I found a couple of family trees on Ancestry and think I understand it a bit better. The death in 1832 is perhaps Charles senior.

Charles senior married Anne Green in Whitchurch in 7 April 1776
They had Mary 1777 , William 1778, Nancy 1779, William 1781, Richard 1782, Eleanor 1793, Thomas 1793 and Martha 1795 and possibly more I have not found the full dates are on family search. Nancy could be Ann.

Thanks to all that replied to my post.
First, my ggg-great grandfather Charles Poston born 1789 Whitchurch, Salop to Charles & Ann
Green Poston is the one that emigrated to Quebec, Canada in 1815. Charles (referred to a post as junior) did not marry Mary Yardley. Charles Sr did four years after Ann died. I'm trying to find Charles Sr's place of birth and parents. I've looked thru all the microfilms from the LDS family history library for Whitchurch Parish from before 1700 thru to 1840 and the only Postons in the that parish were Charles Sr and his families. From his age listed at his death he was born about 1754. I was hoping to find out more about Ann Poston Glover. Is she a cousin? If so maybe I could find her parents and connect Charles Sr that way with siblings to find his parents. Just a thought. any other ideas I can try?
I did wonder if Ann might be a nickname for Nancy (charles jr's sib).
Anyone know how I might find out if Ann and James had children? There used to be a way to do that with the familyhistory search (PAF?) but I can't seem to find it with the new stuff.

One of the trees on Ancestry that you found is probably mine. I've been on Ancestry since 1998.

As to the godparents by proxy the church was the Church of England (Anglican church) in Quebec City.

I'll check out the findmypast record. Thanks
