Coroner's Report: suicide case, Liverpool 1927.

Hi All,
This tragic case relates to my grandfather's brother ... in 1927 he took his own life (aged 29) by inhaling coal-gas from the oven in his kitchen. I have a copy of his death certificate, but would be interested to see the Coroner's Report. Does anyone know whether this would be possible? Are Coroner's Reports stored at the Liverpool Record Office? (The suicide took place in the area of Liverpool 11)

It's likely that the inquest was reported in the paper so I'd try them. They're on film at Liverpool Library.
I don't know if the Coroner's Reports are still available. You could ring and ask the record office.

Zed.
If the Coroners Reports for 1927 are available to search in the Record Office, you may be able to contact them to get an answer, through this site:

Many thanks for the quick replies!
Hi MaryA ... the person's name was Sydney McQuinn, (sometimes spelled Sidney) b. Liverpool 1898.
He died on 18 January 1927.

The report isn't available for that date only the register info which is basically the same info as the death certificate so not worth pursuing:-

Old newspapers are probably the best option.

Tried a variety of searches but I have been unable to find an entry online. I'm afraid it will probably have to be a Record Office search.

Thank you so much for searching ... much appreciated.
(I have been given more details about the situation, but I'm not sure whether or not it's just 'gossip', which is why I'd like to check the Coroner's Report).
