Jewish community early 19th Century

Does anyone have any information about the Jewish community that were prevalent in the Brownlow Hill/ Mt Pleasant area from about 1830 to 1880. This is long before the large waves of migrants came over from Eastern Europe in the 1800's.
I sent an email to the Princes rd Synagogue but got no reply, so am finding it very hard to find out about the social history of this time. My 3x great grandparents moved from London to Liverpool in the early 1830's. I have all their genealogy but want to know more about the community and first hand accounts of other jews from that period.
regards
Suzy
