Gerrard-Winwick. Smith-Ire, Liverpool, Ormskirk

Hi everyone, just joined, and am hoping for information regarding Gerrard's at Winwick. I have got back to Phillip (Phipps) Gerrard 1812-1876, married to Ann Baxter. They had Sarah, Ellen, John, Peter, Ann, William B ( my GGGrandfather ). I moved down south, and i'm guessing a visit to the church is my only option for pre 1837.
My other branch has been a nightmare. My Mum (living) was adopted and found out her birth details about 15 years ago. Her mother died 3 weeks after giving birth to her, and its "father unknown". Her Grandad......John Smith
. Ive had fun you might say. I'm now stuck on George Smith b.1830 County Down Ireland, married to Elizabeth ( Eliza ) Radican b. Kings County ( Offaly ) Ireland. They started in Liverpool ( son Thomas baptized Holy Cross 1851 ), went to Ormskirk (1861 census) and had James, Jane, John, William, George, Joseph and Charles. Is this a visit to Ireland? Any help appreciated if they are in any members tree.
If anyone needs a look up on the Isle of Wight i'll gladly help. May take a couple of weeks until i need to pass somewhere. Great site by the way. Thanks Ian.
