Hi all, Once again big thanks for info on the family CURRAN.
St. Mary`s Church Kirkdale is the venue for two weddings, John James CURRAN and then 21 years later his daughter Mary married George DOYLE so certainly a reasonably strong affinity with said church. I am aware that the church has been demolished (haven`t all the places you want to see been done in!!) but can anyone advise whether the cemetery is situated where the church once stood and whether their records if any are searchable, and whether the cemetery is kept in good condition!? I fancy a visit if possible.

Do you know where the people in question where living when they died and what religion they were...

I'm afraid it's just a park nowadays with no graves, there is however, something on the wall at the right, perhaps the holy water font. The records will be held at the Record Office, but before you visit check with them to make sure that the dates you are interested in are on microfilm (at the World Museum, William Brown Street) or in document form (at the Sandhills Satellite).

Do you know where the people in question where living when they died and what religion they were...

I`m afraid that I can`t be sure of that but Kirkdale seems to feature most. I think both families were C of E.

It was common for RCs to marry in the C of E even after RC marriages became legal so they could have been RCs marrying in the C of E.
