Have just found that Percy Hulme ended up in Australia, but what about his wife Margaret Owen?
The information I have so far
Margaret Owen (b. 1892) married Percy Hulme(b. 1890) on 14 Nov 1917 at St Cyprian, Edge Hill.
I found Percy's WW1 record on Ancestry RASC 047574 and at the end of the record was a letter from a Secretary of the Returned Sailors & Soldiers' Imperial League of Australia in Kilkenny S.Australia.
He was writing to the War Office in Woolwich on behalf of Percy as he had lost his discharge papers and wanted a record of his services as he wanted to join this organisation.
He gave his address as 32 Rowell Crescent, Kilkenny, S.Australia. The letter was written on 29 May 1936.
With some help from Australian folk the following information was forthcoming
Passenger arrivals
Mr P Hulme on Ormonde at Port Adelaide 24 December 1936
Death Notice
Percy Hulme 1 Feb 1968 age 78yrs Married - No relative noted
Residence St Kilda, Death place St Kilda - PtA43A/814
He had a Memorial Service at Centennial Park on 26 March 1968
He apparently died intestate, but his father's name was given - Walter.
This name also was on his marriage cert and I have 1891, 1901 census from Threapwood where Percy was born and lived as a child.
So this seems to fit with Percy Hulme alright, but there is no mention of Margaret in any records.
I don't know whether they had any children, although there are Hulme/Owen births on FreeBMD
My concern is Margaret and what became of her?
Percy obviously went to Australia his War Record being the proof, but can anyone help me with Margaret please, I would be very grateful.
Sorry to have rambled on, but I think you need to have as much info as possible
