Is anything known about this painter who is said on a Google site to have Liverpool connections? Many of his watercolour paintings are listed online, but almost nothing on his life.
Other sites give an approximate year of birth as 1882, and he died in 1920.
I am without my usual access to sources (temporarily, I hope), so any clues would be welcome.

Hmmmm landscape artist? He seems to have been about 59 years old in 1911 but born in Inverkithing? Fife. The last two children were born in West Derby Jane about 1891 and Phyllis Helen about 1893, but the older Eleanor Tait Walker was born about 1888 in Edinburgh as was her mother Helen about 1856.
Will do a check for them in 1901.

1901 seems to confirm, just moved a few houses away, now at 208 Upper Parliament Street, Toxteth Park
Robert H Walker Head M 49 Artist Landscape Own Account, At home Scotland
Helen 43 Scotland
Nora Tait Walker daur 13 Scotland
Jane H 10 Liverpool
Phyllis H 8 "
Janet Donald Servant 18 General Servant Domestic Liverpool
RG13; Piece: 3438; Folio: 93; Page: 1.
Well I think that's the first time I've seen Eleanor shortened to Nora, although logical I suppose.

The Scottish censuses are difficult. There is a possible family at No. 5 Parkside Street, Newington, Edinburgh with Robert a Printer/Compositor 42 but born Glasgow, Helen 37 born Edinburgh, Robert 6, Helen 3 and William 2, all born Edinburgh. Also a lodger William Moyes 69 born Edinburgh. 15/22/6 CSSCT1891_353
I can't be convinced of this family, but definitely possible.

Many thanks for all the information. He was evidently an adopted Scouser, but painted scenes all round the country, and in the Alpine lakes area.
