Lancashire wills proved at Chester

Before the Central Library's shutdown there were volumes in the Historic Society's shelves with 'Lancs wills proved at Chester', useful for those seeking death info before Probate Calendars were introduced.

Does anyone know if the volumes are readily available at the Sandhills depot, or do they have to be ordered ahead?

So far as I am aware everything that you need at Sandhills needs to be ordered ready for the day you are visiting since it has to be got out of the storage facility ready.

Another set of the green books I think you mean are held at Crosby library but easier is to Google Lancashire Wills database where most of the data has been transcribed.

If you find someone listed there, the will will be held at Lancashire Record office Preston
