My Grand mother was called dorothey w lewis she married in 1937 to Arnold dykes in liverpool. she had two brothers and 1 sister their names were sidney; George; Nancy;
I dont know the names of her mother and father my great grand parents. My mum called them granny and pops. They would of lived in the walton area livepool. I am looking to find out their names and just find any family for my mum and me. any help is apprieated. Its my first time doing this. My mum has a family photo. George got married to a lady called Laura. My mum is 74 now so very vague memories.

To find out her parents names would need her birth entry. Do you have any idea of grandmother's year of birth? or that of any of her siblings? Were they older or younger than her? It may be that we will have to await the marriage certificate to get any positive information to work from.

My nan was the oldest out of them and her date of Brith was the 18 nov so my mum thinks.

The most likely marriage entry is
Dec 1915 George W H Lewis to Ann J Williams W. Derby 8b 1305

Took place West Derby, Register Office or Registrar Attended - are the family Catholics? if not then the probability is that it was in the Register Office.

You really need to confirm that these are the parents and that must be by means of the birth certificate

I have checked the RC marriages that are available on Ancestry and sorry to say that this marriage isn't there, so if it is the correct one unfortunately it will mean another certificate to be purchased. Fingers crossed prior to that date we may be able to help out with online databases.
