Ann Bickerstaff

I need help in trying to trace the parents of Ann Bickerstaff who married Samuel Hyslop in St Peters Church Liverpool on 18th April 1850.
Her fathers name was Peter and he was a watchmaker.

The 1841 census HO107 563 7/13 records an Ann Bickerstaff living in Rose Place aged ten, with Peter (born 1781) was this her father? He would have been fifty at the time of her birth.

The 1851 census HO107 2190 246 records a Peter Bickerstaff (Watchmaker born 1805) with his wife Ann and daughter Jane. Was this her father?

Are the two Peter Bickerstaffs related?

All advice is greatfully accepted.

There is a marriage of Samuel (from the 1841 census) to Sarah Connor in St Brides, 13 September, 1843. Both of full age, he a bachelor, she a widow. He's a Watchmaker from Prince Edwin Street, father Peter also a Watchmaker. She's from Moore Place, father Joshua Taylor a School Master. Both signed their names. Witnesses were Edmund Cowley?Coventry? and Helen Clarke?
Sorry difficult to tell from the signatures, but bear them in mind in case similar names pop up in connection with the family anywhere.

Just in case it bears any connection, since there aren't many Peter Bickerstaffs about Liverpool, here's another which might be of interest.

St Philip, Liverpool
Peter Bickerstaff of this Parish, Widower to Margaret Hams of this parish Spinster were married by Banns on 5 March, 1829. Peter signed his name, Margaret made her mark.
Witnesses were Thomas Maddock and James Phillips. Sadly there is no occupation given and the witnesses were also on other marriages so presumably members of the church rather than personal friends.

There is also a marriage for Catherine of the 1841 census, so worth checking to see where she was in 1851 and who with.
St George, Everton 26 April, 1857
James Franklin 62 Widower Traveller Tarlton Street Father William Franklin In the Army to Catherine Bickerstaff 38 Spinster Tarlton Street Father Peter Bickerstaff Watchmaker.
Both signed their names and witnesses were Peter Bickerstaff and Julia Pugh

Now what I'd be interested to know is if other people think the two signatures of Peter Bickerstaff look the same.

The date of Ann Bickerstaffs' marriage to Samuel Hyslop 18th April 1850 possibly at St Peters church, Church Street. He was a batchelor and she a spinster. Samuels occupation was a Mariner and both gave their address as Duckinfield Street. According to a street directory (I do not know which one) this is were Anns father was living in 1850

Samuels father was also called Samuel and he was a labourer. They were married by licence and both parties signed the certificate.

The witnesses were John McLennan and Margaret McWilliam

The name of the vicar who conducted the service was J.G. Headlam

There is a record of an Ann Bickerstaff being baptised at St Peters church on 24th October 1831 but I do have details of the parents names etc.

Hiya seen as though Anns sister Catherine was living with her in 1851 same age as the Catherine on the 1841 kids of Peter..i would say that Peter was her father..he also had a son Peter too young to be Anns father..

Peters wife must have been younger than him to have Ann in 1830, wonder if ther eis a burial for Peters wife Elizabeth just to see what her age was...
