I am researching my family who are orignially from Ireland. I am unsure of where in Ireland tho. I cannot find any birth/census records for Moses Redmond (b about 1821) I believe he married Anastasia Bent (surname may be French instead).
They had 8 children Mary Redmond 1843 –, Sarah Redmond 1845 – Joseph Redmond 1849 – Anastasia Redmond 1851 – Christopher Redmond 1857 – Sarah Redmond 1857 – Michael Redmond 1860 - Thomas Redmond 1862 –
Christopher Redmond (born Gulielmus Christopher Redmond) married Sarah McMahon (1856) they had 6 children including
Patrick J Redmond (1900-1957) who married Mary Agnes Gore (1905-1981)
All the records that I find seem to be relating to the Redmond's that immigrated to the US rather than the ones in Liverpool.
I have been using Ancestry.com but they don't have any records or Moses or Anastasia. If anyone has any information or knows of any great free sites please let me know
Thank you!

1871 born Ireland, no location.
Moses 52, Anastasia 50.
Hi Jess
when you wrote her surname maybe French, I thought you meant a la Francais...
I now see where you get the French from, the unmarried sis in law in 1881 census, although Anastasia is listed as Agnes???

Many of us have Irish ancestors and have posted links to websites as we have found them. Just hit the search button at the top of the page, enter "Ireland" and choose the "Websites" board, you will find a list of useful links.
This would seem to be an occasion when you need to spread your search as wide as possible, especially for Anastasia's family who may have immigrated to England with the Redmonds, noticing the godmother is Catherine Bennett.

Hi Jess and welcome.
As you probably already know the name Redmond is a relatively common name in Ireland. A lot are in my area, County Wexford, where the name first arrived with the Normans: http://www.surnamedb.com/Surname/Redmond
A good indicator of the spread of the name throughout the counties can be got by using the Irish 1901 census. Free to use... type in just the surname, leave the other boxes blank and select Both in the gender box at the bottom. If you like you can search by county from the drop-down menu. http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/
I got 182 hits for Antrim; 125 for Down; 1091 for Dublin and 1514 for Wexford.
Looked for a baptism for Moses Redmond c.1821 +/- 5 years on the Irish Family History Foundation site [all counties] and didn't get a single hit. The 'all-counties' does not yet include Wexford, so my twisted logic would suggest searching that county. Their records are not yet online but are supposed to be available quite soon, so watch this space: http://www.rootsireland.ie/
