Ive found an Edward Walker bn Ireland 19 boarding in Manchester in 1861 census, he's a tailor.
Worth keeping to one side I reckon.

Good find Hilary.
Piers was the original name from Normandy.
Sadly it looks like Edward died aged 38 in june qtr 1881 Stockport.
Ann is widowed in 1891, and Jane is listed as born Ireland, so they must have gone back for a short while.

Hi Ston
I don't have any Pearce info for Eccleshall but that doesn't mean a thing,
they moved around, changed their birth places, you name it
Most lived in Stone, not that far from Eccleshall, to us today, some list Stafford as their birth place, not far either, or Gnosall. Some change it to Shrops.
In census Ann/e could be with any number of parents if she was still in Staffs. Free BMD don't list Eccleshall as a rego area.
Sorry me dear, not a lot of help.
Tina
off topic I can tell you the Pearce crest has an amulet which means Piers was a knight.
The Pearce's fought at the Battle of Bloor Heath in the War of the Roses.

Mary dghtr is with her 26 bn Stockport, hat trimmer.
Different birthplace, (typical Pearce

)
Ches BMD have a civil marriage for Rosina Walker 1899 to John Cryer.
