Hi Susan,
I'm assuming that you got this entry from the LancsBMD site. "Preston" denotes where the registers are held, which would mean the Lancashire Record Office in Bow Street, Preston, but I would suspect that the reference to the Ormskirk Rgister Office would be the clue to the church.
Genuki site for Ormskirk seems to suggest that St Anne's would be the right church.

As you are aware Southport was originally in the Ormskirk Registration district. For some strange reason that I didn't understand although all the Church of England marriage register books for the Southport area were held in Southport (North Sefton) those for RC churches and other Non Conformist churches were held in Ormskirk.
It appears that when everything in Ormskirk Register Office was moved to Preston all their books went to whether the churches were in what is now Sefton North Reg district or not. I tried this out with a marriage I knew about. The marriage was at St Joseph RC Birkdale but lancashirebmd.org.uk tells me that it was an Ormskirk Registrar attended marriage and that the books are at Preston.
I think therefore that you will have to widen your search to cover all the RC churches within the old Ormskirk Registration District.
Do you know where the couple where living prior to their marriage?
I've just tried out another couple of marriages one was at the RC in Formby the other at Betheseda Chapel Birkdale both show on lancs bmd as Ormskirk Registrar attended and registers at Preston and I have others!

I think Josephine may have been from Southport? Is that correct? If so perhaps St Marie or St Joseph would be the best bet.
The reason being that in the 1901 census there are a family of Lees living in Linaker Street Southport with a daughter Carmela M aged 6, Josephine W aged 5 and Winifred J aged 3, father John mother Selina.
If you think it's St Maries I'll have a look next time I'm at Crosby Library providing their film goes up late enough.

yes josephines parents are John and Selina(Forster) I have no info for Carmela other than birth. Winifred J married John McMahon and had 4 children. their daughter winifred married a Brewster (may still be living) it is Josephine I am working on. and yes they lived in Southport. now her sister married in Liverpool, but I'm wondering if St Maries would be the place for Josephine. that is where gran, her cousin, went to church. I was thinking the Roland guy was a good candidate. if he was in WWI came home then married Jo? he could be listed in the military records

In 1912 a chapel-of-ease, served from St Marie’s, was built in Marshside, known as the Church of St Patrick. It became a separate parish in 1934

if you could that would be great. its a fragmented family some in liverpool others in maghull and some in southport. any with the last name of Lee would be of interest to me. I,ve been trying to put this family back together for years. I have a vague recollection of going to see aunty Jo at a house on high park rd close to moss lane, she was a seamstress i think. I don't remember her husband at all I'm also thinking they had 1 son. the Irish in this side stopped them from talking to each other when ever there was afalling out..so concequently I have few memories of them.

It'll probably be Friday and I'll record any Lees for you.
By the way looking at Selina on earlier censuses I think she was Foster and some censuses record her as Helena. I think her mother was a Jane Foster who married a Thomas Wright in St Peter's Liverpool in 1870. On the census Jane gives her place of birth as Scarisbrick. This is where the fascinating but comes in as I have Fosters in Scarisbrick in my tree!! So I shall have to dig a bit to see if they are related to Selina and her mother Jane. That is if I've got it right.
Not sure if St Pats have been filmed but will see what I can do. I'll get back on Friday.

it was great....I just cannot fathom why these siblings living in the same town were so distant with each other, to the point of 2nd cousins not knowing each other
