Hello all

I am trying to find more on Julia Hill. I don't have much information, but here's what I do have.

I have my grandfather's birth certificate which states John Evans & Julia Evans (formerly Hill) as parents, living at 68 Rose Place, Liverpool (16th Dec 1908)

I also have the 1911 census which has:
Address 2 in 2 Court Upper Beau Street, Liverpool
Head: Evan John Evans, age 34, Married (7years)
Wife: Julia Evans, age 34
Daug: Mary Ellen Evans, age 4
Son: Daniel Evans, age 2

I tried looking for a marriage reg for c1904 and only found Evan John Evans & Julia Fagan. Then on 1901 census found a Julia fagan married to William Fagan with 2 other children.

I now think I might have missed something and maybe gone wrong somewhere. Anything anyone can help me with or a push in the right direction would be appreciated,

Thanks, Lorraine

Hi Lorraine,
This is Julia in 1901 following her 1897 marriage to William Fagan:

FAGAN, William - Head - Married - 26 - 1875 - Blacksmith's Lab - Liverpool.
FAGAN, Julia - Wife - 24 - 1877 - Liverpool.
FAGAN, Patrick - Son - 3 - 1898 - Liverpool.
FAGAN, Annie - Dtr - 0 (5 MOS) - 1901 - Liverpool.
Address: 5 Kilin Street, Liverpool, Lancashire.

This would appear to be her spouse's death a couple of months later....
Deaths Sep 1901: Fagan, William - 26 - W. Derby - 8b - 330.

The absence of the two children in the 1911 was a concern. There are no matching deaths so the children may have been given up for fostering or to an orphanage. However, there is an Annie Fagan, bn 1901, shewn as the niece of a Bernard and Margaret Golightly [30 & 28 respectively], at 27 Rachel Street, Liverpool.

And this could be Patrick:
FAGAN, Patrick - 12 - School boy - Liverpool.
Address: St Vincent Poor Law School, Garstang Road, Fulwood, Preston, Lancashire.

I think this is Julia in 1891 [she named one of her Evans children Daniel]:
HILL, Walter - Boarder - Married - 44 - 1847 - Dock Labourer - Liverpool.
HILL, Margaret - Boarder - Married - 43 - 1848 - Liverpool.
HILL, Daniel - Boarder - U/m - 18 - 1873 - Dock Labourer - Liverpool.
HILL, Julia - Dtr - u/m - 14 - 1877 - Liverpool.
HILL, Tamar - Dtr - 10 - 1881 - Liverpool.
HILL, Agnes - Dtr - 6 - 1885 - Liverpool.
Address: 62 Sawney Pope Street, Liverpool.

Well found Tina. I'd say that's a Bingo moment for the child Annie Fagan!
