Hi,
I am looking for information about a Vicar William E Brock I have no dates for him. He is down as a Godparent on dad’s baptism certificate in 1918 and also performed the ceremony at St. Silas in Liverpool. I am wondering if he is related. Has anyone got any ideas how I could find out more about him.
Thanks Linda

You could try [or someone might look for you] a local directory at the temporary record office to see if he was at a local parish.
Another source would be Crockford's Clerical Directory, published every year or two, listing all Anglican clergy with some biog. details.

Hi Linda
William Brock was the vicar of St Silas between 1914-1919. Ive just transcribed some Liverpool Baptisms where the vicar who performed the baptism was also named as a godparent - about a dozen of them in a five year period I think so it might have been a usual practise if the parents couldn't think of anybody else.

Here is the record from Crockfords 1932 edition. It was on two pages so have had to put it on in two parts.
