Hi,
Would any one out there be able to pinpoint where this pub was? I assume it was on or near Mill Lane, off Higher Lane. There was a Richard Kirby as publican around 1901 census.
Thanks,
Ste
Mill House pub, Rainford.
Could you please give the reference for the 1901 census, the only Richard Kirby, publican in Rainford I found was at the Muncaster Arms.

Mill House Inn
The pub is marked on my 1930s Road Atlas of S. Lancs: south of the junction of Church Road and Rookery Lane, in Church Road before it becomes Pasture Lane. It was almost opposite Star Inn cottages.
If you send me a PM with your email I'll scan it for you.
