I have found a marriage for CAROLINE BLADON born 1833 Birmingham. She married JAMES MCARDLE son of FRANCIS in 1861 at St Nicholas Liverpool (on ancestry). James states he was a mariner. I can find NOTHING for James and Caroline after the marriage. As Caroline's half brother and sisters went to Australia I wondered if she did too. Also her father mentions all his children apart from Caroline in his will so she may have died before him in 1877.
Can anyone help? I have not had research experience in Lancashire before, the Bladons are all Staffs, Warks and Derbys!! why is came to Liverpool is also a mystery.

For the crew, the marriage took place in Dec qtr 1861 (Free BMD)
I think Caroline 28 is still with her folks in 1861 census in Bham,
father George & his wife Hannah.
There are 3 younger sibs which I assume where the step sibs who went to Oz?

1851 George is widowed, Caroline has a younger sister Harriot.

Yes George married his first wife in London and had Caroline 1833 Birmingham and Harriett 1836 London. She married 1860 in Birmingham. george's second wife was Mary Ann Mason and she produced William george in 1850 Birmingham (He went to Australia) and Mary Ann died 2 months later. george then married Hannah mason in 1851 at St paul LIVERPOOL but had 2 daughters Amelia Hannah and Elizabeth matilda in Birmingham. Amelia went to oz with her sister but came back and married in England. Lizzie died in 1878 in Australia. george's 4th wife was the widow of his nephew Frederick james Bladon!!!

Hi Helena, and hello from the day shift!
Do you have the marriage cert for James and Caroline? If yes, what was his given age? And what was his father's occupation, and does it say 'deceased' or not?
Just a thought! Caroline was in B'ham in April 1861 for the census and then turns up in Liverpool sometime between October and December to get married. Seems a little odd to me so does this birth have anything to do with it? Births Jun qtr 1862: MCCARDLE, Mary Ann - W Derby - 8b - 338.
It's the only McCardle birth in Liverpool between Sept qtr 1961 and Dec qtr 1862.

The marriage is on Ancestry which is how I doscovered it.
25th December 1861 St Nicholas Liverpool
james McArdle, full, bachelor, mariner, Seel st, Francis McArdle, porter
Caroline Bladon, full, spinster, Seel St, george Bladon, electroplater
both signed, witness George Collines and Catherine McArdle (she was james sister and married Geroge Collins in 1863)
As a matter of interest, george left £7,000 when he died in 1877!
