Think I have found a Margaret Mack that was in the right area single never married. No children with her But will do that see if here is one that married and with a child William could be that is why he is never around.
Am going to work on her see if anything comes up to link them.
Trouble is I have nothing on William he has been a mystery from the start, my Dad used to tell me your Mums Dad was a mystery no one knew anything about him only he came from Liverpool. He didn't even tell my mum much only he used to play on Scotland road as a little boy.
There has been no sign of him on any census till 1911. Then he gave his place of birth as Liverpool. His father he said was Patrick. I have had so many people try looking for him with that info and nothing.
I had began to think he had changed his name though he always insisted it was always just plain MACK.
I am wondering was he sort of fostered out took the families name till he went out on his own.
This is the best lead I have had for years I do hope it turns something up.

Well don't think it was the Hexham birth just found that WIlliam died age 1 in Hexham.
