Any help or advice on a particular line of my family would be welcome, I have used all of the normal routes i.e. Ancestry and BT phone book`s, I have yet to go to Southport to see the Voters Regersters.

I am looking for the descendents of Peter Russell born April 1920, given address was 14 Nelson Rd, Liverpool. Peter married a Dorothy Margaret Kelly on the 7th November 1940, in St. Marys Church, Edge Hill, Liverpool.
Peter died on the 16th March 1990, in Southport, his occupation was a Customs Officer. His son **** was the informant on the death certificate.

I was hoping that I would find at least one of his children still living in the Southport area, but up till now and after many phone calls all I get is a brick wall?

Any help, please?

Stan.

Amended to remove details of probable living people.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

We have tried to put together a few suggestions for tracing a living relative on this message http://liverpool-genealogy.org.uk/phpBB ... php?t=8154

One of the most successful is to post in the Old Pals sections of the local newspapers - perhaps the Liverpool Echo and the Southport Visiter.

The directories and electoral rolls for the Southport area are presently at Formby library as Southport library is closed for refurbishment.

Peter's son's address would have been on the death certificate was this address in Southport? Many people retire to Southport. Do you have the birth information for any of Peter's children indicating they were born in Southport? Or perhaps marriage information for them.

Thank you for your help, I subscribed with 192, and found the person that I was looking for.

This will make my family living in Canada very happy.

Many thanks,
Stan.
