Hi Sue,
That book is available from Amazon.UK for under £6 in paperback. Found these reviews that I thought you would find interesting.

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful:

I read this book last year, and was thrilled to see my greatgrangfather and mother's names appear in the list of marriges, it gave a valuable insight into life on the canal.
The only down side I feel were, no links to go elsewhere for more information, on boat names, old maps of the area, tracing who owned what boats. valuable information for tracing your family tree.

The book arrived in excellent condition and was what I expected it to be.
I bought it because I thought it might help me to get a better picture of
my ancestors, (some of whom were 'Boatmen' and their families.) and their
living conditions.

There is a list of marriages which I found informative and helpful, and I
will be including it as part of the 'family tree', which I am compiling
for my own family.

I have been doing Family History research and this book was really helpful with regard to the marriages of my ancestors.

There are more reviews from other sources if you google the book title inside quotes ["].

And found this link that you may already have: http://www.boatfamilies.org.uk/site/index.php
It will open at the basic search page. Type in just the surname Cheetham and get 130 [!] Cheetham people!

Looks like News from Nowhere might have it in stock. If you click to order it seems the advertised price is incorrect, it is only £5.95 not £7.50
