Hi
I am looking for the family of Elizabeth Jackson nee Cheetham born abt 1856-8 in Haskayn or Halsall its near Ormskik, husband Richard Jackson born about 1858 I think Liverpool but not sure, they married in 1881 but Elizabeth had a son in 1877 Thomas cheetham I have no idea if they had other children.
I do know that Richard died in Lily road Litherland in 1901 and in 1911 Thomas Cheetham is living 13 Lily road, Litherland with his family.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Kind regards Sue

Hi Sue,
You need to get the marriage cert for Elizabeth Cheetham and Richard Jackson; first to get a better idea of their ages and YoBs, then her father's name and occupation so we can confirm her in an earlier census. Really need to narrow down her likely YoB because I think she may have died after 1881 and here's why....

1891:
HUGGINS, Anthony - Head - Married - 48 - Labourer - Co Roscommon,
Ireland.
HUGGINS, Bridget - Married - 48 - Co Roscommon, Ireland.
HUGGINS, John - Visitor - Married - 48 - Labourer out of work - Co Roscommon, Ireland.
JACKSON, Dick - Lodger - Widower - 34 - Labourer - Crosby, Lancashire.
HUGGINS, John - 5 - Scholar - Liverpool.
Address: 38 Murat Street, Great Crosby, Waterloo, Lancashire.
RG12 / Piece:2982 / Folio:39 / Page:20.

There are a number of deaths for Elizabeth Jackson 1881-91 but none with an age to match a birth year around 1856/58.

Do you have the birth cert for Thomas Cheetham born in 1877 showing the place of birth as Haskayne?

This is somewhat premature because we should have that marriage cert first to check her father's details, but:
1861:
CHEETHAM, James - Head - Married - 49 - Boatman, Leeds Liverpool canal - Halsall, Lancashire.
CHEETHAM, Elizabeth - Wife - 47 - Boatman's wife - Haskayne, Lancashire.
CHEETHAM, Alice - Dtr - U/m - 19 - House assistant - Haskayne, Lancashire.
CHEETHAM, Robert - Son - 15 - Boat mate - Haskayne, Lancashire.
CHEETHAM, Ellen - Dtr - 11 - Scholar - Haskayne, Lancashire.
CHEETHAM, Thomas - Son - 9 - Scholar - Haskayne, Lancashire.
CHEETHAM, Elizabeth - Dtr - 5 - Scholar - Haskayne, Lancashire.
Address: Haskayne Hamlet, Downholland, Lancashire.

There is a death that could fit for Elizabeth Jackson Q1 1891 Liverpool 8b 111 age 44, this would mean that she would be missing on the 1891 census.

There is also a possible death for Richard Q1 1900 Liverpool 8b 157 age 45, but also another Q3 1897 West Derby 8b 432 age 39.

Did she register the death of Richard then?

Hi MaryA
I have not seen Richards death certificate, but information I was given was that Elizabeth died in 1937 but that could be wrong

I think it would be worth your while to see the certificate, if she registered the death then her residence might be useful to you.

You need to confirm that 1937 death as being your Elizabeth. The age at death for the nearest 'fit' is 82 putting her bn abt 1855.
Deaths Sep 1937: Jackson, Elizabeth - 82 - Liverpool N - 8b - 295.

Lizzie died as a result of a house fire in Lawler Street Litherland, her daughter Martha (King) died from burns recieved in the same house a year later. I realise your enquiry was a few years ago,if you still require info please let me know.
