Hello Sue,
Any infomation would be great.
Bear with me for a moment. Explanation further down....
This is 'young' Thomas' parents and family in 1901:
CHEETHAM, Thomas - Head - Married - 24 - 1877 - Coal Hawker - Haskayn, Lancashire.
CHEETHAM, Jane - Wife - 21 - 1880 - Liverpool.
CHEETHAM, Elizabeth A - Dtr - 2 - 1899 - Bootle.
CHEETHAM, James - Son - 1 - 1900 - Bootle.
RG13 / Piece: 3461 / Folio:16 / Page:24.
Address: 45 Clifford Street, Bootle Cum Linacre, Lancashire.
Haskayne is a small village in Lancashire on the West Lancashire coastal plain. It is to the north of Downholland Cross on the A5147 and the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. The village is in Downholland civil parish, and forms part of the Aughton & Downholland ward. I think it comes under the Ormskirk Registration District.
According to my Scheppes crystal ball (

!], a decade later they are at 13 Lily Road, Litherland, and am fairly sure I found several more children:
Jane bn abt 1902; Alice bn abt 1903; Lilian bn abt 1905; Kathleen bn abt 1906; Florence bn abt 1908; Thomasina bn abt 1909; and last but not least young Thomas bn Dec qtr 1910.
Because I can't see him in the Free Index, it is possible that James had died:
Deaths Mar 1907> Cheetham, James - 6 - W. Derby - 8b - 183.
It should be noted that there are 2 Thomas Cheethams with fathers of the same name both born abt 1910. The 1901 TC father is the coalman. This is your man, Births Dec 1910: CHEETHAM, Thomas - W.Derby - 8b - 248.
Marriage Dec 1897: Cheetham, Thomas and Tanner, Jane - W.Derby - 8b - 723.
There could be 3 more children after 1912:
Births Mar 1913: Cheetham, Albert J - Tanner - W. Derby - 8b - 496.
Births Jun 1917: Cheetham, Clifton - Tanner - W. Derby - 8b - 416.
Births Sep 1920: Cheetham, Leonard - Tanner - W. Derby - 8b - 530.
And this could be the father's death. The age is a very close match for the 1901 age/YoB.
Deaths Sep 1934: Cheetham, Thomas - 57 - Liverpool - 8b - 48.
