Hi
I am looking for information on William Henry Blinkhorn born abt 1868 Liverpool, I believe he married Mary Ann Sale in 1887 Liverpool.
They had 5 Children
Alice born 1889
John Henry born 1891 died 1892
Willian 1894
George 1897Elizabeth 1900
I have found the family in the 1891 and 1901 census,
but I am not having much luck in finding William Henry or his wife Mary Ann, be for they married, the only thing I do know is William Henry had a sister Elizabeth born in 1871 liverpool
If any one can help I would really appreciate it I am sorry I dont have a lot of info to go on.
Kind regards sue

The marriage to Mary A Sales took place at St Simon Church in 1887 according to
www.lancashirebmd.org.uk
I suggest you obtain the couple's marriage certificate which will name their fathers. This will make it much easier to try and pinpoint them earlier on.
Just to amuse you allI first typed "pink oint" instead of pinpoint!

Problem now starts with Robert & Elizabeth
I have found a Robert Blinkhor(d) born Sefton 1751 father George mother Amy Holm they married in Sefton 1748 and George is Blinkhorn not Hord.
Seen as though Robert & Elizabeth name kids George & Amy i recon this is his parents.
Now George was born 1721 and baptised at St Peter & Pauls Ormskirk in 1746 his abode was Sefton, he wasnt baptised till he was 25 years old and there are no parents written down

this must be when he was about to get married and he had to be baptised before he could..
He married Amy Holm in 1748 in Sefton his baptism record has his surname as BLENKHARD haaaaaaaa.
George & Amy's children
Amy 1748
Robert 1750
Jane 1753
Priscilla 1755
William 1756 died
John 1760
William 1762
Agnes 1766
George died in 1791 and is buried at Sefton Church
So we have gone back quiet away 1721

Hi Colette
Yes like you i think Ormskirk could well be his home parish, but I still can not get over the fact you got back to 1721 your a star, I am over the moon.

If you google lancashire will databases and then in the search box of the site for the wills put in Blinkhorn you will find a number for George Blinkhorns all of Great Crosby. Great Crosby was in the parish of Sefton so a look at the wills could be profitable. The wills are at Lancashire Record Office and you can request copies - they will tell you the charge and send them you.

Hi Sue
been looking into Amy Holm's family
I have found..
Humphrey Holm married Jane Rushton in Sefton 1741.
William Holm married Mary Rushton in Sefton 1745
Edward Holm married Catherine Almond Sefton 1745
They all have lots of children ..names repeating such as William,Edward,Amy,Priscilla, Lydia..
I believe these Holm men to be Amy Holms Brothers..
George Blinkhorn & Amy's son Robert named a son Humphrey and a daughter Lydia..so they are definaly Amys family....
We can go way back with a Humphrey Holm having kids in Sefton in 1604..
Just cannot see Amy Holm's baptism..think it would be c 1720's it could be she was married before she married George BLINKHORN...
So maybe she wasnt a Holm to start with as there seems to be lots Holm baptisms but hers...i guess its nice to know that a name as been in a family for such a long time Like Humphrey has..

John Quirk has transcribed all of the St Helen's Sefton registers baptisms, marriages , burials and the MIs are done. They are in bound copies kept at Crosby library.
It took him years and is amazing.
