I have a couple who marry in October 1891 at St Nicholas, Liverpool. They lived in St Helens but the bride was under age, she said she was 21 when she was 18, so I believe it is an elopement. The address they give is 64 Ormond Street for him and 42 Ormond Street for her. I can find the Street but not these numbers, anyone know if they did exist and what they were, I suspect they were boarding houses.

I can't find them either the last even number on the Kelly's Directory (1894) and Gore's Directory (1900) is number 32:-
32 Ormond Street, James H. McGaul, Builder
I can't find those numbers on the 1891 Census either.

I wonder if they were lying about their address so they could get married at that church, but still live in St. Helens.

That wasn't uncommon, there may not have been permission from the parents and to marry in another parish would have been one way to avoid the truth being discovered.
Unless the marriage was by licence however, they would still have had to show their presence in the house/church for the three weeks the banns were being read, so I suspect they might have stayed with friends at least over the weekends.

Hi
We have ggps living in Marybone when they married at St Peter's.
Neither bride or groom had ever left Garston/Woolton

Hmmm!
The highest number coming up for me is #37 in 1881 and 1891. Next to 37 is Alexander Buildings occupied by a caretaker and family. No other occupants.
In 1901 Alexander Buildings appears to be numbered 41 Ormond Street and has a caretaker.
Mind you, I can't raise any even numbers so maybe they haven't been transcribed.

I have the 1881 and 1891 census on CD's, the street index only points to the odd numbers which seems to be a bit strange.
They married after banns, one witness is the grooms brother, the other is someone from Liverpool, I wonder if they were staying with her at the weekends for the banns.
