Hello again, This time on my research into the Grosart family I would like to try and find out about my grandfather, Alexander Grosart's place of work. He was a fishmongers assistant for many years in premises located in either Siddely Street (his place of residence) or Lark Lane area prior to his death in 1938. From there he would deliver fish, oysters, etc. to the large houses in the area and that is how he met my grandmother, Alice Mary Rogers. Apparently she was a member of staff at one of the houses - a bit of the 'Upstairs - Downstairs' brigade.

My quest is for any information and, hopefully, any photographs or literature of any kind. The name of the owner of the shop may produce some leads.

There was a Glendinning, fishmonger, in Lark Lane in the 1960s, which I think had been there many years.

17 Lark Lane Edward Hughes Fishmonger

91 Lark Lane Mrs Jenny Louisa Glendinning Fishmonger

Glendinning's address was closer to Siddely Street where Alexander Grosart lived at 29.

Thank you both for your prompt and informative replies. The Glendenning one sounds most promising. I used to pass by that area when I was being taken (dragged more like it) to meet my grandparents when I was a very small child.
