Hi Everyone :D
My nan told us my grandad Thomas Lawson was brought up in an orphanage, I have found him in the 1911 census with his brothers and sisters he is 2 years old, however his mother died in 1912 christina lawson, his father was william lawson, its likely his father couldnt look after him and his brothers and sisters,is there anyway of finding out which home he was sent to?if any? I have all the info regarding william lawsons side of the family going right back to 1790 and have traced christina wrights side back to patricia and johnson citizen too,its just this orphanage saga i cant solve!
thanks

I would first look in Fazackerly Cottage Homes. These records are available at the temporary location in Sandhills. There may be restrictions on the records you want to look in, this will have to be accessed by the research officer Roger Hull. The records up to 1908 are open. See the topic link below on access to records at the temporary locations in the City
