Can anyone tell me where in Kirkdale was Star street. I have a birth certificate with the address, but cannot find it on any map.

Definitely not what it used to look like... but if you search for L8 5XP UK on Google Earth it will take you there as it is today.

In the 1901 it is in the Registration District of Toxteth Park and Ecclesiastical Parish of St Thomas.

Kirkdale and Toxteth shouldn't be the same .....

Can you give us the details from the birth certificate and we could try and look further to see if we could identify the family in 1901?

Thanks for replies. It definitely is not TP. The birth cert is for 1930, so I cannot look for them on census. What I need to know is the nearest churches to look for marriages

Searched every census from 1861 and Star Street only ever appears as Toxteth. There are/were Starkie Streets in Everton and West Derby, and a Starfield Street in West Derby. But no Star Street.

As MaryA suggests please post the parents' names in full from the birth certificate. We could then hope to find the parents' marriage in the GRO index. That would give a 3 month time frame to check for 'local' churches. Could you also confirm where the word Kirkdale appears in relation to Star Street; in Column 1 or Column 7. Is the address actually shown as 'Star Street, Kirkdale'?

APOLOGIES everyone. It defniitely was a senior moment. It was not Star st but Sharp st, which I have found.

Sharp St off Sandheys St is listed in 1938 Gores/Kellys Directory if you would like a surname look up.
