Tracking down a lost relative for a contact I found he had gone to OZ in 1950. On the manifest it says his last UK address was Harwood & Robertson, Coates Street, LIverpool.
I've googled it/them/ of course but nothing popped up. So anyone with knowledge of 1950s Coates Street out there can tell who/what they were? I've a funny feeling I should know where Coates Street was!

Possibly Marwood & Robertson: shipping, freight, etc agents at Water Street in the 1960s.
Was it bad writing?

Hi Daggers,
Just had another look and you are right. It is Marwood & Robertson! But I am still seeing Coates Street.
Coates Street rings bells for some reason, but I am blowed if I remember why.
Thanks for the Marwood!

There must be something left in the old memory, then, despite being a year older than I was on Thursday.
I started work in India Buildings, across the road from no.18 Water Street.
£120 a YEAR!
Long ago.....
